Barbecue chicken ring

2 cans crescent dinner rolls

* Or make your own soft croissants rolls dough using the "Soft Croissant Rolls" recipe in another post (makes 24 rolls, you will only need 16. You can bake the remaining 8 as Soft Croissants rolls or use any filling sweet or savory for stuffed croissants rolls).

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.

2 ½ cups cooked and shredded chicken breast.

1 cup chopped onion.

1 cup barbecue sauce.

For the glaze:

1 beaten egg mixed with 1 tablespoon of milk.


  1. Preheat the oven to 190°c or 375°f.

  2. Cover baking pan with parchment paper and place a small bowl in the center of the pan.

  3. On a floured surface roll ⅓ of the dough into a large round shape. Cut to 8 equal pieces. Repeat with another ⅓ to get 16 triangles (use the last ⅓ as you wish).

  4. If using the store bought dough, separate into 16 triangles.

  5. Arrange the 16 triangles around the bowl, overlapping, wide end toward the bowl.

  6. Mix the shredded chicken with the onion and the barbecue sauce.

  7. Spread half of the shredded mozzarella cheese around the bowl.

  8. Spread the chicken mixture on top of the cheese.

  9. Spread the remaining mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken mixture.

  10. Remove the bowl and place the edges of the triangles over the filling and tuck the ends under the dough all around until all the filling enclosed.

  11. Brush the ring with the egg mixture.

  12. Bake for 15-20 min until golden brown.

  13. Serve warm with your choice of dressing in a small bowl in the center of the ring.
