Ingredients
2 cans crescent dinner rolls or make your own soft croissants rolls (makes 24 rolls, you will only need 16. You can bake the remaining 8 as plain croissants rolls or use leftover filling (like I did - see picture below) for stuffed croissants rolls.
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup banana peppers
¼ cup fresh basil
⅓ lb. sliced salami
⅓ lb. Ham
¼ lb. Proscheto
8 slices provolone cheese cut in half
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional - olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping
For the glaze:
1 beaten egg mixed with 1 tablespoon of milk.
Directions
Preheat the oven to 190°c or 375°f.
Cover baking pan with parchment paper and place a small bowl in the center of the pan.
On a floured surface roll ⅓ of the dough into a large round shape. Cut to 8 equal pieces. Repeat with another ⅓ to get 16 triangles.
If using the store bought dough, separate into 16 triangles.
Arrange the 16 triangles around the bowl, overlapping, wide end toward the bowl.
Spread the shredded mozzarella cheese around the bowl.
Spread the peppers on top of the cheese.
Place the basil leaves on top of the peppers.
Place the salami slices on top of the basil.
Place the ham slices on top of the salami.
Place the procheto on top of the ham.
Place the provolone cheese on top of the procheto.
Remove the bowl and place the edges of the triangles over the filling and tuck them under the dough all around until all the filling enclosed.
Brush the ring with the egg mixture.
Bake for 15-20 min until golden brown.
Serve warm with olive oil and balsamic vinegar in a bowl in the center of the ring.
Enjoy!
